Diocese releases Bishop Wilkowski’s statement after meeting with Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle on matters at the Cook County Morgue.
“This morning I had the opportunity of attending a meeting hosted by Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle and her executive staff to provide representatives of Cook County Clergy with a briefing and update regarding matters at the Cook County Morgue and Office of the Cook County Medial Examiner.
The President provided us with helpful facts and information, along with plans for correcting issues at the morgue.
I am grateful for the President’s honesty and candor during our meeting and I am confident that we have begun the journey towards making any and all necessary changes to update the practices of the Cook County Morgue.
