Bishop's Statement on the Death of Brittany Maynard
The following is a statement by Bishop James Wilkowski, Bishop for the Evangelical Catholic Diocese of the Northwest regarding the death of Brittany Murphy:
“Today, Brittany Maynard chose to end her battle with cancer. Ms. Maynard wished to experience all possible quality of life days before the ravages of her brain cancer would engulf her into pain and torment.
Many theologians would condemn Ms. Maynard’s decision to electively bring about the end of her suffering and of her life in this world.
As Bishop for the Evangelical Catholic Diocese of the Northwest, I am spiritually and personally sure that at the moment when Ms. Maynard’s life ended here, she was received into God’s loving hands and was welcomed into His kingdom.
I ask for prayers for Ms. Maynard’s family and for all who are involved in Cancer research so that a cure for all forms of cancer can be found”
May her soul and the souls of the departed rest in peace.”
